Déjà-vu ?

Na, gehe ich euch schon auf dem Keks mit meinen ständigen Blog-Posts? :D Was soll ich sagen, ich bin motiviert im Moment. Außerdem habe ich das Gefühl, dass ich schneller geworden bin. Naja, wie dem auch sei, mein heutiges Outfit könnte euch bekannt vorkommen.

Are you already annoyed by my high frequently blog posts these days? :D What can I say, I’m really motivated at the moment. And I slightly have the feeling that I got faster in sewing. Well, how ever, today’s outfit might be familiar to you.

Ich habe einen zweiten Sewaholic Hollyburn Rock sowie einen zweiten Closet Case Files Nettie Bodysuit genäht (Version eins dieser Kombo siehe hier). Zuerst der Rock, auf den bin ich ein bisschen stolz. Denn er ist mein erster richtiger Hack eines Schnittmusters, der auch noch geglückt ist. :) Nach Nummer eins kam mir die Idee, dass der Rock gut einen elastischen Bund vertragen könnte, außerdem hatte ich diesen speziellen Look im Kopf, den ich kopieren wollte. Also habe ich anstelle des eigentlichen Bundes einfach ein breites Gummiband oben dran genäht.

I made a second Sewaholic Hollyburn skirt and a second Closet Case Files Nettie Bodysuit (first version of this combo look here). Let’s talk first about the skirt because I’m a bit proud of it. It’s my first pattern hack that actually works really great. :) After making my first Hollyburn I thought the pattern were great with an elastic waistband and I had that special look in mind that I wanted to recreate. So I replaced the normal waistband with a wide elastic.

Um das breite Gummi vor dem Ausfransen zu bewahren und um den Endlos-Reißverschluss oben zu sichern habe ich das Ganze beidseitig mit Falzgummi (meine Allzweckwaffe) eingefasst. Damit der Rock trotzdem bis oben schließt (sehe ja sonst doof aus) habe ich zwei kleine Haken und Ösen angenäht. Der Saum ist mit Schrägband eingefasst, sehr schick.

To secure the elastic ends and the zipper ends I sewed on two stripes of fold over elastic. The skirt should, of course, close up completely so I added two little hooks and eyes. And there is a bias bound hem, I really like the clean look of that technique.

Der Stoff, den ich dieses Mal für den Rock verwendet habe, ist viel fester und steifer als der von Hollyburn Nummer 1. Ich habe ihn privat jemandem abgekauft, er ist quasi Second Hand, und daher habe ich keine Ahnung, aus welchem Material er ist. Ich vermute aber, dass es Baumwolle ist. Wer mich kennt wird sich beim Anblick der Bilder denken “Ach typisch, war sie wieder zu faul zum Bügeln.” Das war ich nicht! Ich habe mich sehr bemüht ihn glatt zu kriegen, aber das hat den Stoff herzlich wenig interessiert. Naja, ich kann gut damit leben. ;)

The fabric is much stronger and stiffer than the fabric of Hollyburn number 1. It’s thrifted and I have no idea what it’s made of but I think it’s mostly cotton. Those of you who know me might think “Oh look, she was too lazy to iron, typical.” I wasn’t too lazy! I’ve tried it very hard but the fabric was totaly unimpressed by the iron. Well, I can live with it. ;)

Zu Nettie muss ich glaube ich nicht so viel sagen. Diesmal in hellgrau, kurze Ärmel und die Ausschnitttiefen genau andersrum als bei Variante 1. Ich habe auf dem Stoffmarkt in Godesberg sehr schönes Falzgummi, genauer gesagt Einfassgummi, gekauft. Der wesentliche Unterschied besteht darin, dass dieses schon vorgefaltet ist und eine kleine Zierkante hat. Zur besseren Erklärung gibt es nicht nur das verarbeitete Bild, sondern auch eins vor Verarbeitung. Wirklich praktisch!

I don’t have to say much about Nettie. This time it’s gray viscose knit fabric, short sleeves and the scooped neck and high back. Ich bought this amazing kind of fold over elastic last weekend on a local fabric market which is a bit different than the normal fold over elastic. It’s already folded and has a decorative edge. I’ll give you a picture for better understanding. It’s really great stuff!

Den Rock habe ich in Größe 12 genäht, wie letztes Mal. Nettie ist wieder eine Mischung aus obenrum Größe 10 und an der Hüfte Größe 12. Ich habe den Body ca. 5cm verlängert, letztes Mal auch schon, und tatsächlich ist er etwas lang. Aber lieber zu lang als zu kurz. ;) Auf dem folgenden Foto sieht man, dass sich im Rücken etwas Stoff sammelt. Vielleicht sollte ich beim nächsten Mal, wenn es eine dritte Variante geben sollte, wieder ein paar Zentimeter Länge rausnehmen.

Hollyburn is made in a size 12, like the last time. Nettie is a size 10 at the bust, graded to size 12 at the hips, again like the last time. I legthend the pattern for about 5 cm (2″) but I think it’s a bit too long. Well, that’s better than too short but as you can see on the following picture there is too much fabric in the back. For the next version, if there will be a next version, I should make it a bit shorter.

Im Mai werden wir in Sachen Hochzeit unserer lieben Freunde Karen & Niklas (Huhu Karen :) ) unterwegs sein und ein paar Tage in den Urlaub fahren. Aber natürlich ist Me Made May, das heißt auf Instagram werde ich fast täglich Fotos posten und hier hoffentlich Zeit für die wöchentliche Zusammenfassung haben.
