Dream Team – glaube ich… | probably…

Frohe Ostern, ihr Lieben! Ich hoffe, ihr lasst es euch alle gut gehen und futtert reichlich Schokolade! Ich nutze die freien Tage um meinen Blog-Rückstand etwas aufzuholen, denn ich hänge hinterher. Ich nähe viel und schreibe wenig darüber, so ist das manchmal. Aus diesem Grund gibt es heute nicht ein neues Teil, sondern zwei. Aber die beiden passen sehr gut zusammen, es ist ein Nettie Body von Closet Case Files und ein Sewaholic Hollyburn Rock. Oh ja, ich habe ernsthaft einen Body genäht und dann auch noch einen Taillenrock oben drauf gesetzt. Seht selbst:

Happy Easter you lovelies! I hope the long weekend is treating you well! I thought I could use the days off to write a bit here on the blog, because I’m way behind. That’s why I have two new garments for you today. But they fit together very well, it’s a Closet Case Files Nettie bodysuit and a Sewaholic Hollyburn skirt. Oh yes, I really made a body and topped it with a waist skirt. Take a look:

Das Wetter war wirklich schlecht, als wir die Fotos gemacht haben, daher gibt es heute fröhlich gefilterte Bilder. | The weather was really bad when we took the photos, so you get some happy filtered pictures today.

Hach dieser Body, er ist toll! Ich wollte ihn schon nähen seit das Schnittmuster vor fast einem Jahr erschienen ist, aber dann waren doch immer andere Sachen wichtiger. Nun habe ich ihn und – Spoiler-Alarm – ich werde weitere nähen. Nettie bietet unendlich viele Variationsmöglichkeiten: zwei verschiedene Halsausschnitte, drei Rückenausschnitte und drei Ärmellängen, nicht zu vergessen die Kleid-Variante. Da muss man einfach mehr als einen nähen! Ich habe einen Mix aus obenrum Größe 10 und an der Hüfte Größe 12 genäht mit hohem Halsausschnitt und mittlerem Rückenausschnitt, was ich sehr elegant finde.

This body is so great! I wanted to make Nettie since her release nearly one year ago, but then there were other things more important. But now that I made her – spoiler alert – I’m definitely going to make more. There are so many options that you just have to make more than one! I made size 10 at the bust, graded to size 12 at the hips with the high front and medium back, which I think is really elegant.

Ich habe Druckknopfband anstelle von einzelnen Druckknöpfen verwendet, weil mir das stabiler scheint (und weniger Arbeit war). Für die Beinausschnitte habe ich Falzgummi verwendet, so wie Heather es in ihrem Sewalong als Alternative vorschlägt. Wie immer bei Indie-Schnittmustern ist die Fülle an Informationen unschlagbar gut.

I used snap tape for the crotch because this seams to be a bit more stabil (and because I’m lazy) and fold over elastic instead of the leg bindings, like Heather mentioned it in the sewalong. As always with indie patterns, the amount of informations in the pattern and the sewalong is unquestionably good.

Kommen wir zum Rock, dem Hollyburn Rock von Sewaholic. Der hat mich fast wahnsinnig gemacht, genauer gesagt der Reißverschluss. Der Schnitt an sich ist toll und lässt sich wirklich schnell nähen (ich habe Variante C gemacht, den Rock ohne Schnick Schnack so zu sagen). Ich kam allerdings auf die tolle Idee, Endlos-Reißverschluss zu kaufen. Wie sich herausstellte war das nicht meine beste Idee… Ich habe sehr geflucht, bis ich den Zipper auf dem Reißverschluss hatte, aber mit etwas Übung wird das hoffentlich besser. Trotzdem habe ich diesen Reißverschluss ganze drei Mal eingenäht, ich kann euch nicht sagen, was alles schieß lief. Nun gut, am Ende hat es geklappt, und es könnte schlimmer aussehen.

Let’s talk about the skirt. As I mentioned above, it’s the Hollyburn skirt from Sewaholic, view C. I nearly lost all my nerves about it. Not because of the skirt itself, the pattern is great and it comes together really quickly, but because of the zipper. I had the great idea to buy an endless zipper. Turned out, it wasn’t my best idea… It feels impossible to get this little foot on the zipper, luckily I bought 3 meters so I had enough to try. And I had to insert this zipper three times, I can’t even tell you how many stupid things I did. But in the end I won and well, it could look worse.

Trotzdem bin ich noch nicht so ganz sicher, ob diese Art Rock was für mich ist. Ich habe das Outfit zwar tatsächlich schon in der Öffentlichkeit getragen, aber ich muss mich noch daran gewöhnen. Dieser Stoff ist auch sehr weich und leicht. Dadurch fällt er natürlich schön, aber der Bund fühlt sich nicht besonders stabil an. Außerdem werde ich noch Gürtelschlaufen ergänzen, denn ohne Gürtel funktioniert das Outfit gar nicht, finde ich.

I’m just not sure if this look works for me. I already wore the outfit in public, so that’s a good sign, but I have to get used to it, I think. The fabric is very soft and light, so the waistband isn’t as stabil as I think it should. And I will go back and add some belt loops because it doesn’t work at all without a belt, at least for me.

Ich werde noch einen zweiten Hollyburn nähen müssen, erstens weil auf jeden Fall noch Netties folgen werden und zweitens, um mir bezüglich des Looks sicher sein zu können. Mir schwebt eine hellblaue Chambray-Variante mit schwarzem Gummibund vor. Und weil ich euch nicht mit dem schlecht gelaunten Gesicht entlassen will, hier noch ein fröhliches Foto zum Abschied.

I have to do a second Hollyburn, firstly because I need something to wear with all of the Netties I’m going to make and secondly to become sure about my feelings for this look on me. I’m thinking about one in a light blue Chambray with black elastic for the waistband. And I thing I can’t let you go with this sad face above, so you get a lucky me at the end.
